My Top 5 Favorite Ice Cream Shops!

Today’s topic for this blog post is all about ice cream. Yes! I can’t really have sweets anymore in the meantime. So I am in sweets widthrawal. I am not an ice cream aficionado, but now that I am refraining myself from sugar, I am realizing how much of a sweet tooth I actually am. There is a Museum of Ice Cream here in Los Angeles for those who do not know. I have not been there, but if I get a chance I will blog abut my experience. I also made an artwork painting of an ice cream, which I gifted to my cousin that you can view here. So anyway, here are my favorite ice cream shops. They are in a particular order:

1) Coldstone Creamery – I pretty much didn’t realize that Coldstone is my #1 favorite ice cream until I learned I can’t have sweets as I used to. I grew up having it and I prefer it than Baskin Robbins. I just love how you can get so many options and also that it is so creamy. Also, you can get Coldstone EVERYWHERE!

2) Ice Cream & Shop[pe] – My first time trying this cool ice cream shop when I went in a recent trip to Palm Springs! You have to try it. They have a selection of FREE toppings and I LOVE that they serve sugar free options and their sorbets are good!!!

3) Afters Ice Cream – With their unique flavors and creamy ice cream, this ice cream shop is definitely in my top 3! I want some right now.

4) Honeymee – This soft serve ice cream is wonderful because of it’s famous honey toppings and drizzle on milk ice cream. I would have this whether winter or summer!

5) Pinkberry – There are so many yogurt places, but Pinkberry for me remains as the original. It is also my Mom’s favorite!

I know I narrowed it down to just five places, as there are really many ice cream shops out there. A special mention to McDonald’s Mcflurry, because I am craving that so much too. Yum! Let’s not forget mochi ice creams, as well.

What’s your favorite ice cream? What flavor do you usually get?

Happy Friday and have a blessed weekend! xoxo

Quote + Longchamp Le Pliage

Hello again! I want to share the quote that I found recently. Live simply. Walk humbly. Love generously. Sounds like a good thing to live by! I am writing this blog at 3AM and my back is aching… signs of aging, I tell ya. Anyhow…

I also want to share a review of the Longchamp Le Pliage Large Shoulder Tote, which I got recently. I have seriously been wanting one for myself. My mom got hers some years ago and since then I wanted to have one as well. Hers is actually the Neo, I believe in Medium size/Black. I would prefer the Medium, but when I went to Bloomingdales and looked at all the sizes on me, I thought a large one would be more practical for me. I already have a lot of totes and big bags, which is why the thought of owning yet another big bag makes me feel that I needed a Medium. After deliberation, I got the the Le Pliage in Large in color New Navy. I would have got it in Bilberry color, which was out of stock at the time. Could have I waited for an order for that color? Yes, probably. But I really wanted to start using it for the Palm Springs trip! It is great for travel. Now that I think about it, I prefer this color anyway. It’s versatile, classic and goes well with everything really. I have to say, I’m not a fan of soft material purses, so this might be an exception for me. I prefer handbags that are sturdy.

My iPhone broke tonight. I don’t know what happened, but I’m not looking into having it fixed. I don’t want to waste money by doing so. It’s expensive to get a new iPhone. I have a love and hate with iPhone. Lol. It’s like I’m so done with it, but really I like it’s features and functionality. Maybe it’s time to let go of this iPhone SE, which I just got only sometime last year. Not cool. I’m thinking of the iPhone 7.

What kind of phone do you have? Let me know! Have a great rest of the week! God bless. xoxo

Staycation : Palm Springs

Happy Summer! Just came back from a mini getaway with my cousins to Palm Springs. My family used to go here, so I was excited to be back. There’s really much more to explore than when I came before. I have not seen downtown Palm Springs until this time around and it’s quite nice. It is full of restaurants and shops… you name it! We stayed at the Riviera Hotel and our check in was not until 4PM. So we decided to go around other places to explore and take pics. Here are some photos from our trip:

It was so hot over there, though as expected. At night, it was hot yet really breezy so it was nice. I think my favorite thing was when we went to the ice cream shop called ‘Ice Cream & Shoppe’. Not only do they have chocolate sorbet, they carry sugar free chocolate ice cream! I. HAD. TO. Good thing I have to go all the way to Palm Springs to get their ice cream. Otherwise, I’d be in serious big trouble.

I’m going to try to blog again soon. I will update about my travel essentials, probably. Wishing you a happy weekend! God bless! xo

Day 28 | It’s almost 2017!

Fondest memories! I thought I would post something I remember that my family used to do. We used to travel to different places, like road trips. One day in particular that I enjoyed was not even far from where we lived. We would go to Mt. Wilson, off of FWY 2. One morning, we went on a nice day and after exploring, we headed to a nearby restaurant like a cabin-style restaurant and had an enjoyable breakfast. I don’t know why this was memorable to me, but I loved that day.

Today, I saw snow up in the mountains from afar. I love seeing snow capped mountains! Anyhow, it’s almost the new year. I have another post that I would put up hopefully soon. What are your new year’s resolutions (if any?) I personally have not thought about mine yet. Oh, and Happy Birthday to my cousin, Fatima. We grew up together as kids and now that we’re grown, and even with the distance, I feel like nothing has changed. Even though we hardly have conversations and see each other, I’m thankful. Happy Birthday again! πŸ™‚

So I hope to write more consistently on this blog like I said before. Does that count as a new year resolution? I might have to go back to my post about ‘My Bucket Lists‘ to see what else I need to cross off! Hehe.

God bless you and thanks for reading!

Happy 4th! / Weekend Getaway!

How was your Fourth of July? Mine was good. So glad I got to get away from LA. A very much needed mini vacay. It might sound crazy, but my family/relatives decided to go to Las Vegas when it’s usually crowded AND hot to be going there. It wasn’t bad at all. Yes, it was hot! I got to try Shake Shack for the first time. I also went to Dunkin’ Donuts! We don’t have one nearby so it was a must. I was determined to bring some Dunkin’ Donut’s munchies going back home.

Overall, I had a great time. We didn’t get to see fireworks as much which was a fail from our hotel room. We stayed at Luxor Hotel. Thank God for everything. Anyway, more exciting news hopefully on my next blog post. Until then! Ciao.

My Top Ten Spots for Food in LA.

(In no particular order, I decided to post my ten favorite spots to dine in Los Angeles. Based from this, I can now admit that I am into American, Mediterranean, Cuban, Korean and Japanese dishes. Enjoy!)

Lemonade – I could really go for some of their Cucumber Mint lemonade right now. So good! Their menu is full of “healthy” portions. My favorite though is the Seared Ahi Tuna.

Larchmont Bungalow – Well, I’m really into that cafΓ© vibe. They offer good food. Yummy breakfast entrees and free wifi. So you can do work and dine, which is pretty cool.

Panini Cafe – My newest discovery! Oh my. Can’t believe how good their Tofu Kabob Plate is. Must try!

Porto’s Bakery – Probably the most popular place or you may have tried it if you are LA local. My current favorite is their Soup of the Day and Green Tea Smoothie/Shake.

CaffΓ© Concerto – It’s like Bottega Louie, but in Koreatown. They serve macaroons, desserts, lattes and delish entrees. Cute place. I love the vibe and atmosphere here.

BCD Tofu House – Love Korean food! I love having Soon Tofu and their Korean BBQ Ribs.

Nordstrom Bar Verde – Good food. Nice ambiance. I have only been there once, but I wouldn’t mind going there after some shopping.

California Pizza Kitchen – I prefer this place than Cheesecake Factory. Although, I like Cheesecake Factory’s desserts (Godiva cheesecake for me, please.) My favorite at CPK are their thin crust pizzas.

Spoon House – Yum! This is a Japanese/Italian inspired pasta/spaghetti house. I remember I used to crave this a lot. If I wasn’t cutting down on my carbs, I wouldn’t mind having this more often!

Curry House – I love their curry variations and options. Their sweet tea is so good!

Yellow House Cafe – This spot offers good food and is a nice place to chill and hangout. They offer half price on their drinks when you buy a meal. It is a cute yellow house cafe!

Hope you enjoyed reading this post. Thanks and God bless!

I Believe.

Blame it on the holiday season, but I have to say I am slowing down with what I am supposed to be doing continually — STUDYING! Thankfully, I have a blog to vent out words when I need to. It does help me keep on track. I should have no excuse whatsoever. I am getting sleepy and taking naps when it’s time to study. Hah! Whether I like it or not, I should find a way to get back to it.

The weather has been chilly this past week. However, it was actually warmer today! Below are more photos of myself from Solvang. Though I had a great time, I must move forward and focus again back to getting myself busy. As you can see, my blog post title says ‘I BELIEVE’.

photo 2-2

It’s been a hard transition this Fall. I had to let go of some things, and I don’t know exactly what will happen. I will trust in the Lord and BELIEVE. I don’t know what it is, but this journey since I started my blog have been exciting! Praying that I get my motivation back in studying.

Hope you have a great holiday season. God bless!

A Trip to Solvang

I want to keep this blog post short. I recently got back from a mini getaway with my friend Diana! She and I celebrated her birthday. It was a special one because we have been wanting to do something like this for a long time. I am so grateful and I praise God for this. We had such an amazing time just hanging together. We took a bunch of photos that I will show you. I also have a video! (So proud I made my first official one. Thanks Diana for the help! Otherwise, I would have created the video with Photoshop. Haha) To view the photos, click on the link that I have below:
