Quote of the Day!

So, I’ve been blessed to be working on projects and freelancing. I’m really enjoying it, and I am SO SO SO grateful! Thank You Lord for entrusting me. My heart is full of thankfulness. Last night however, I felt like throwing in the towel. It happens. Strangely enough, I felt really hurt and I broke down. I won’t go into details. Maybe I needed it to seek His ways and to be honest, I don’t have any answers.

I like this quote. I totally can relate. It may not happen overnight, but I need to trust Jesus!

Lastly, here is my affirmation: I radiate joy. I seek His light!

So anyway, Happy Wednesday! Love you all. xoxo, Iris

Slip-On Mules/Loafers + IKEA Runs!

Can I just say, I’m obsessed with these shoes! I need another pair in Black. Anything slip-on mules/loafers, I’m into right now. It’s classic and comfortable. Love them!

Lately, I have been going to IKEA. Tonight, went there again with the family. Anyway, I have the urge to start painting again. I have not done so in a while. I’m going to just ramble, but my little nephew loves church! He is excited and can’t wait to go back. What a cutie pie!

Alright, hope you have a good weekend! Lord bless us all, xoxo.

3 Ways To Love Yourself

Hi, my dears! Happy Tuesday and I just want to write something that may lift your spirits up! Thought about this topic, literally just moments ago. I decided to write and don’t want to lose the momentum. Hehe, alright. Let’s get started:

1. Stand on God’s promises. – It varies from whatever season of life you are in, but we can trust the Lord that if we stand on His promises, He will give you His peace, love and joy.

2. Don’t just sit back. Have goals. – If you’re like me, I constantly think of goals. Whether it may be fitness, design, personal, etc. When you have goals, you have something to look forward to each day.

3. Do what is best for you. – This is something of course you do, as long as you are not hurting anybody. By all means, do what is best for you! Are you constantly thinking about what others might think? Make yourself a priority. Sometimes, we forget about ourselves. Pray about the situation and ALWAYS make sure that when you decide to do what’s best for you, it’s always for good.

Alright, that’s it. Are there some things you would add to this list? Let me know! I would love to hear your feedbacks and comments. Thanks for reading this post! God bless.

10 Things I Would Tell My 16 Year-Old Self

Hi there! I am back to blogging today. I’m actually feeling really sleepy. So I figured why not blog to keep myself awake. Here’s a list of 10 things I would tell my 16 year-old self, if I could. So here it is:

1. Seize the day! Take every opportunity, not just with things that occupy your mind at the moment, but pertaining to your future as well.

2. Be yourself. It’s good to admire and to look up to other people, especially if they are older than you. But remember, you can make a choice to stand out and decide to be your own self.

3. Put God first! As a 16 year old, you have your future ahead of you. Make sure you put Him first and your plans will succeed.

4. Seek first the Kingdom of God. I believe this is important because it affects your life choices and the people you surround yourself with.

5. Follow and obey God. This is like a no-brainer. But when you realize that you’re a Christian, it’s your priority and you will make sure you do so in all areas and aspects of your life.

6. Listen to your parents. They know what is right and what is best for you. I’m blessed with godly parents, and they are an example to me.

7. Time is precious. Time flies! Whatever your goals are, the time is NOW! Don’t wait until you’re ready.

8. Not everyone will like you. Even if you think you’re a likable person, you don’t have to get other people’s approval.

9. Don’t give in to peer pressures. Whatever is going on around you, the latest trend or fashion. Be modest and be an example!

10. Learn to LET GO! It doesn’t apply to me when I was 16 years old, but it would be helpful if I learned how to do so later in life.

Thanks so much for reading this blog post! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! xoxo

Day 28 | It’s almost 2017!

Fondest memories! I thought I would post something I remember that my family used to do. We used to travel to different places, like road trips. One day in particular that I enjoyed was not even far from where we lived. We would go to Mt. Wilson, off of FWY 2. One morning, we went on a nice day and after exploring, we headed to a nearby restaurant like a cabin-style restaurant and had an enjoyable breakfast. I don’t know why this was memorable to me, but I loved that day.

Today, I saw snow up in the mountains from afar. I love seeing snow capped mountains! Anyhow, it’s almost the new year. I have another post that I would put up hopefully soon. What are your new year’s resolutions (if any?) I personally have not thought about mine yet. Oh, and Happy Birthday to my cousin, Fatima. We grew up together as kids and now that we’re grown, and even with the distance, I feel like nothing has changed. Even though we hardly have conversations and see each other, I’m thankful. Happy Birthday again! 🙂

So I hope to write more consistently on this blog like I said before. Does that count as a new year resolution? I might have to go back to my post about ‘My Bucket Lists‘ to see what else I need to cross off! Hehe.

God bless you and thanks for reading!

Songs I Currently Love

As promised, I’m going to blog more often. It’s almost Thanksgiving, but I’m in the mood for Christmas tunes! There’s something peaceful and calm while listening to them.

If you have Spotify, you may want to consider listening to the Christmas playlist that I listen to by STEM Church.

Okay, so this is Day 2 for the month of November that I’m trying to write a blog post. I feel less creative in what to write or what topic to begin with. Trying my hardest though! Haha.

I also would like to feature a website, Chic Type Blog. If you’re looking for awesome desktop wallpaper with great designs, THIS IS IT. It also has a monthly calendar. I highly, highly recommend it!

Thanks for reading my blog. I hope you have a wonderful Friday and blessed weekend!

A message of hope.

Processed with VSCO with a5 preset

The message today at church was really touching and a reminder. It gives us an insight that when things may not be going well, whatever it is, there’s always hope in our Lord Jesus. This is something that we sometimes forget. Let us be reminded that He has overcome everything! Keep on hoping and hoping and never let go of our hope in Jesus!

1. Fix our mind on the truth about God.
2. Lighten the load.
3. Keep the main thing the main thing.
4. Get your hopes up.

Thankful for God’s Word. I pray that you are doing well and HOPE this summer is one of the best yet!

SE + Comfort vs. Style

Hello! Just thought I would update my blog. Got my new iPhone SE this weekend. My old phone broke and even though I wanted to wait until September for a new phone, 4 to 5 months is a long time. I got it in Rose Gold as you can see below:

Recently, I needed black heels (pumps, to be exact). I found two pairs to choose from at the moment and the first one or choice that I really was leaning towards was a pair from Marc Fisher:

I love the tassels at the back! But I didn’t like the heels, as it was pointed. The second pair is by Anne Klein, and it is a bit unexpectedly not exactly my style. I had to get it though for it’s comfort. The heels are chunky. So even though I preferred the first one for it’s style, I had to get this one:

Anyway, I hope you have a great week! Thanks so much for reading my blog. God bless!
